Night falls in Mexico City and two creole dogs meet on a hill before dawn to continue their old story. Stories of travelers; of witches, wizards, nuns and bullfighers, but never legends of old joy, only ancient melancholy stories.

"The story I'm going to tell you doesn't take place in this city," a mysterious German female voice addresses the audience as we watch the awakening of a Central American city, "but it was told to me by one of its characters."
Sofia is an actress who is rehearsing for a play. She and her partner, Manuel, recreate moments of their day to day life by acting out as themselves. Like a voice from beyond, Marlon narrates the story of their impending separation.
Tegucigalpa, Buenos Aires and Hamburg become the stage for this farewell.

In 1984, René Pauck, pioneer of documentary filmmaking in Honduras, is tasked with filming the clandestine training camps set up by the Contras on the border with Nicaragua following the triumph of the Sandinista Revolution. "Olympic Rifle" imagines the lost diary of that shoot, exploring the absence of images and the origins of cinema in Honduras.
